Angelo started his business in 2011. Envirocare, previously known as Angelo’s Recycling at the start of his SAB KickStart journey, specialises in waste and hygiene management. Services provided are solid waste collection and eco-friendly removal; sorting, identification and effective recycling. The business also offers a pest control and hygiene service (disinfecting bins and deep cleaning). The business services several clients from across the hospitality and other business sectors, particularly within the Cape Town CBD.

As an SAB KickStart national finalist, Angelo’s business was awarded a R130 000 grant. A large number of assets were acquired for the business and the most significant intervention in the business during the mentorship period was the change of business name and branding. The business’s finances have been optimised with turnover growing steadily. He has grown to view the business as an integrated entity with functions and stakeholders needing consistent management. Further to this, people are his greatest asset and there is an increased focus on customers’ needs. He says that processes and procedures are a fundamental part of growth and he places great effort into improving business functions.’
